2 chamber MCMP (multi-chamber multi-process) machine recently supplied to an Auto-component manufacturer for their part cleaning requirement.

  • Chamber 1 = Immersed flood washingIFW is one of the methods of cleaning in which cleaning is achieved by dipping the components in turbulent body of water/solvent.The components to be cleaned are placed in the baskets and are dipped in the IFW chamber by an automatic “material handling system”.
  • Chamber 2 = Hot air dryingThis is the drying stage post-cleaning. The components are dried off in this chamber using rightly placed hot air nozzles.

After the completion of these 2 stages, the cleaned component come out of the machine.

High-value components such as engine and gearbox housings, fuel injectors, ABS parts, ophthalmic lenses, etc.) are cleaned in special racks to avoid damage.

In many cases, just one immersion is not enough so that, depending on the demands, multi-stage cleaning operations have to be used which include pressure flooding, ultrasound, etc.
